Communities can be built on shared values, an appreciation of common experiences, collective goals, or a sense of place. Establishing a sense of community is a vital part of developing a healthy culture, especially when institutions that once provided social and cultural leadership are no longer influential or sustainable.
Sample Project:
“Hike This Book” Moosalamoo National Recreation Area
An original children’s book written to encourage future stewardship of this region. Each illustrated scene in I Never Saw a Moose in Moosalamoo features an actual location in the MNRA that can be visited with a short hike, ski, or snowshoe. Children who grow up visiting the places in their storybooks will inevitably become stewards of their environment.
